The 20th edition of Masterclass Apeldoorn is behind us. The event, organized by Internationale Stichting Masterclass Apeldoorn, took place August 23–29 in Theatre and Congress Centre Orpheus, in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands.
Master classes were given by five top musicians of international reputation. The application term for participants started in Februari 2010. 41 Talented conservatory students and graduates from many countries were selected. They came to Apeldoorn to be inspired to reach a higher level. Auditors also joined a fascinating experience. Concerts were be given by participants and teachers. Due to the jubilee year this was a festive edition.
Through all these years Masterclass Apeldoorn has become a high class chamber music event that proves to be appreciated very much by participants, teachers and the community. During Masterclass 2008 a video impression was made.

Stay
During their stay in Apeldoorn about 40 participants are accommodated at guest families. This type of accommodation proves to be appreciated very much by the participants because of the social element.
Language
Due to the international character the master classes are given in the English language.
Awards
In 2009 the Stichting Masterclass Apeldoorn achieved the Louise de Brauw Award for voluntary organisations for her activities. The founder of the Foundation, Mrs. Annette Brattinga achieved in 2009 'De Bokaal' of the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds for her merits for chamber music during many years. In 2010 cello master Colin Carr received the Municipal Medal of Honour for his great merits for chamber music in Apeldoorn during 19 years. |
