Marjolein Spruit

Marjolein Spruit was born on the third of August 1996 in Hilversum (the Netherlands) and started her violin lessons at the age of four with Coosje Wijzenbeek. At the age of five she entered the string ensemble ‘The Fancy Fiddlers’. With this ensemble she gave many concerts in the Netherlands and abroad. In 2004 she entered the Young Talents department of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and from 2011 she was a student at the ‘Sweelinck Academy’, the young talents department of the Conservatoire of Amsterdam. From 2015 she studied with prof. Jaring Walta at the bachelor department of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She graduated in 2019. Currently she studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels with Philippe Graffin. She also plays jazz violin and has lessons with Tim Kliphuis.
Marjolein attended the International Masterclasses Kloster Schöntal in Germany and masterclasses with Ilya Grubert, Andreas Janke and Ulf Wallin. Marjolein performed as a soloist with the Delfts Symfonie Orkest and the Cuypers Ensemble. She performs chamber music in several formations, including the Zèta Trio, which won the ‘Grote Kamermuziekprijs’ in 2019 and was invited to participate in sessions from the European Chamber Music Academy, where the trio had lessons with Hatto Beyerle, Patrick Jüdt, Torleif Thedéen and Tim Frederiksen.
