Hadewych de Vos
Hadewych de Vos, 21 years old, plays the violin since she was 5 years old. She started her violin education at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, where she participated in a program for 5 and 6 year-olds without musical experience (PIVO). In 2008, she was admitted to the Young Talent department of the conservatoire, where she studied with Koosje van Haeringen. In 2016 she became a student with Vera Beths, with whom she now studies in her fourth year Bachelor at the conservatoire of The Hague.
From an early age Hadewych has played in orchestras, such as the Atheneum Kamerorkest and JeugdOrkest Nederland. She is a member of the National Youth Orchestra (NJO), in which she twice took part as (co)principal. Hadewych participated in several (international) masterclasses and competitions. In 2014 she won the third prize at the Iordens Dutch Violin competition. She has received masterclasses from Rainer Küchl, Philippe Graffin, Petru Muteanu, Stephan Picard, Baiba Skride and Rosanne Philippens.
Since September 2016, Hadewych is first violinist of the Pelargos Quartet, a string quartet existing of students of the Royal Conservatoire. They have received masterclasses from members of renowned string quartets such as Quatuor Danel, Hagen Quartett, Quatuor Ysaÿe, Cuarteto Casals, Kronos Quartet and the Jerusalem Quartet. In June 2019, the Pelargos Quartet performed the Helicopter String Quartet by Karlheinz Stockhausen at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam, as part of the operacycle “aus Licht”.
